Philadelphia Health Initiative:

Learning for Locals and Youth

Who We Are?

Our goal is to educate Philadelphia locals to be proactive about their health

Studies have shown that 1/3rd of patients do not have access to a primary care physician. There are many reasons that this is the case: low health literacy, poor understanding of common health conditions, and high costs. At Philadelphia Health Initiative, we aim to break down these barriers by providing basic health education as well as promoting local discounted/free services to the local community.

  Our Misson

Bridging the gap between underserved communities and the field of medicine

We believe that one of the most important jobs for those in the medical profession is to help advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Philadelphia is fortunate to have many great programs to help community members get affordable access to healthcare. PHI has three main goals: to educate the community on common health conditions, spread awareness about local free clinics and discounted medications, and finally to promote the field of medicine to Philadelphia’s own youth.

Philadelphia Health Initiative: tearing down social barriers to equitable healthcare access.
